The rules of the road.

You need to be at least 13 years old. By creating an account you confirm you're old enough and that the info you give us is accurate. One account per person.

You're responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password to yourself, and let us know at hello@perchgolf.com if you think someone else has used it.

Your scores, profile, comments, and uploads belong to you. By posting them on The Perch you give us a non-exclusive license to display them in the app, so the app can do what it's supposed to do (show your round to your friends, count it toward your handicap, etc.). You can delete your content any time.

The Perch tracks who would owe whom based on the scorecard when you set a stake or accept a side bet. We don't process payments. We don't hold funds. We don't arbitrate disputes. See Money & bets for the long version. Friendly wagers between players are legal in most places when no third party takes a cut, but local laws vary — that's on you to know.

• · Harass, threaten, or target other players.
• ·Use The Perch to commit fraud, including hustling someone who didn't consent to the wager.
• ·Post content that's illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or is sexually explicit.
• · Try to scrape, reverse- engineer, or attack the service.
• · Impersonate someone else or create accounts on their behalf without permission.

We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

The Perch is provided “as is.” We try hard, but we don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores will always sync instantly. Don't rely on it for anything mission-critical. Your handicap index here is an estimate based on the rounds you post; it's not your official GHIN handicap unless we say otherwise.

To the extent the law allows, The Perch isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages from your use of the app. Our total liability to you for any direct damages won't exceed the greater of $100 or what you've paid us in the last 12 months (currently $0 — The Perch is free).

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California (or wherever The Perch is incorporated at the time, if different). Disputes go to state or federal courts in that jurisdiction.

The Perch's on-course GPS distances are powered by a combination of data sources. Satellite map imagery is provided by MapTiler. Course names, addresses, and scorecard data come from the Golf Course API.

Hole geometry (green centers, fronts and backs, tee box positions) is partly derived from © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the ODbL. Some geometry is hand-curated by us and our verifiers. Where corrections have been made, they apply on top of the OSM-derived base under the same license.

We may update these terms. If we make a meaningful change we'll bump the effective date and let you know in the app. Continued use after a change means you've accepted the new version.
